The owl may be a metaphor for the little grey aliens with the big eyes that come abduct people at night. Owls are often used by the aliens as screen memory implants to disguise an abduction.

Eben was talking about how he saw a beautiful girl smiling at him and he later found out it was his sister which he never knew he had. He talks about an unconditional love here that transcends it all. But couldn't that love or attachment to her form be a form of sin in that it is a snare that leads or develops into an attachment that keeps us reincarnating into this earthly game over and over again?
